About Us
| |
Columbiana United Methodist Church is a diverse group of people. Young, old, rich, poor - we are all walking the Christ journey together and our motto for 2011 is "One With Christ, One With Each Other, One With All the World." We seek unity in ministry and mission in our own church and in our community and world as we learn from Jesus.
As a United Methodist Church, we believe the following essentials: God’s love is unconditional, Jesus Christ seeks a personal relationship with each person as a personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit is the real presence of the Risen Lord who comforts, directs, and guides us in our faith journeys, the Bible is the inspired word of God and is our authority, foundation, and strength. Because of God, we have and experience an awesome grace, faith, and hope that truly the world can not give.
Our Past
Columbiana United Methodist Church was established in 1843 as the Methodist Episcopal Church. At that time the church was located on the corner of Depot and Lauderdale Streets. It remained in that location until 1950, when the old church building was moved to its present location. Through the years the building has seen several renovation projects to bring it to its current state.

Our Future
Since our renovation and construction project, we have been blessed with a wonderful new addition to the church building. This new space will offer more opportunities for our church family and help us extent the love and grace of Jesus Christ to our community. We continue to grow in our faith and in number under our new pastor, Rev. Lori Carden's leadership. Come be a part of what God is doing at Columbiana United Methodist Church.
