Our Staff Rev. Lori Carden
Senior Pastor When Pastor Lori Carden sets a goal, she doesn’t mess around. Her current goal is to lead Columbiana United Methodist Church in living "One With Christ, One With Each Other, One With the World." Many people and families have already joined our church family, been baptized, and have grown deeper in their faith under Pastor Lori's leadership.Lori came to us as our Interim-Pastor in September 2010 while maintaining her position with the North Alabama Conference as Director of Connectional Ministries and Conference Statistician. She also served on the appointive cabinet. She was appointed Senior Pastor of Columbiana UMC in December 2010.Lori likes to read, hang out at the lake, shop yard and estate sales, and serve on Emmaus teams with her husband Tom. Son Alex, 23, daughter Emily, 18, and a cat named Logan round out the family. Financial Administrator and Office Coordinator
Debra was born and raised near Pittsburgh, PA., lived in San Antonio, Texas, came to Alabama to attend college and never left this great state. She has been married 16 years to a wonderful man, Mark Waddell who loves the Lord. They have a daughter, Madison Alanna Waddell who is 11. Debra has step-daughters: Rebekah age 21 years and Rose age 25. She lives on Lay Lake. Debra holds an Alabama Real Estate License, although it remains on in-active status with the Alabama Board of Real Estate. Debra attended Nursing School at UAB fours years and determined Nursing was not the career for her after several family members had long term illnesses. She changed her major to Business and completed all required courses while working full-time and planning a wedding. She graduated from Falkner University, Montgomery with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1994. Debra spent over 20 years with Baptist Health Systems-HM0/Partners Health South Corporation TXEN, Computer Company Hometown Mortgage M & F Bank. Her activities involve HORSES...LAKE Fun...and spending time with friends & family. Do not neglect the gift that is within you; which was directly imparted to you by the Holy Spirit. Practice and be committed to your gifts, so that your progress may be evident to all. ~ 1 Timothy 4: 14-15 Debra says "I am working my dream job!"
